Understanding Rescue Cleaning with Eric Camden

Foresite’s Rescue Cleaning Division was created 20 years ago after cleaning of no clean flux assemblies became a common practice in the electronic cleanliness industry.

With no clean flux cleaning, many contract manufacturers assumed any no clean residues left behind would be benign. As they soon discovered, this wasn’t always the case. Some fluxes would still become conductive or corrosive, leaving assemblers wondering where they went wrong and how to combat a new type of reliability issue.

Above, an interview with lead investigator, Eric Camden, dives into Foresite’s process and the ultimate value created by decades of on-site rescue cleaning expertise.
