Foresite Honored by the Military & Aerospace Electronics 2016 Innovators Awards Program

Kokomo, Indiana, USA – Foresite, Inc., announced today that its UMPIRE®44 was recognized with a Silver award as part of the Military & Aerospace Electronics Innovators Awards program. The judging panel consisted of a panel of senior third-party professionals.

The UMPIRE44 is a cost effective tool for people at all levels in the electronics industry to evaluate the reliability of design architecture, processes and material sets that are used or under consideration for electronics production.

Assembling and testing the UMPIRE44 can help qualify new aspects of a circuit card assembly (CCA) and engineering changes, including new suppliers, facilities or equipment. The UMPIRE44 was specifically developed to qualify lead-free processes and material sets for high reliability, RoHS-exempt applications.

As a standardized test vehicle, the UMPIRE44 can establish the baseline or comparative performance of any process/material combination alternatives that are under consideration. By using the UMPIRE44 instead of building and testing actual ADHP hardware, costs can reduce tenfold. The UMPIRE44 is unique with regards to comprehensively evaluating and forecasting the combined effect of various inputs on electronics reliability such as interactions of material combinations, process specifications and control, supplier quality, and the resultant CCA cleanliness (residue entrapment).
